In recent years there has been a raft of legislation enacted which makes stringent requirements of service providers in the area of child protection.

Agencies are not always best placed to review their own practice, in this regard and in consultation with your organisation, our consultants will comprehensively review child protection practices within your agency. We will highlight where further development may be necessary and support these developments where required.

  • POLICY DEVELOPMENT

We have extensive experience in policy development with a particular expertise in the area of child protection. Bearing in mind principles of good practice we will work with your organisation to develop policies which are comprehensive, inclusive, inline with current statutory requirements and user friendly.

  • POLICY IMPLEMENTATION

Policies need to be readily implementable, accessible and comprehensive. The different aspects of the organisation’s policies need to be congruent and streamlined for ease of reporting and cross-referencing.   • MONITORING

External, independent monitoring of service provision is an essential aspect of safe practice which can also be a primary prevention mechanism. When adopted practice “norms” within an organisation become unofficial and dysfunctional, the role of monitor is essential. The recent child abuse inquiries, which centre on abuse within organisations, is testament to the destructive power of this phenomenon and the requisite need for external monitoring.

We have undertaken a range of independent investigations into complaints and allegations regarding practice, individuals and organisations. We have developed a two phase process which is helpful in keeping the investigation focused while at the time bearing in mind cost efficiency.

The process builds on the agency’s own internal investigation, policy review, interviewing and finally, submitting a report which is chronological, succinct and user friendly.
